On September 29, 2020, in the midst of a global pandemic, we took a leap of faith. What began as a conversation around a camp fire in Cape Cod soon became Blu Omega — a company built on the belief that business could be done differently.
We wanted to create a firm that put people first, prioritized balance between work and family, and fostered an environment where top performers had both the support to shine and the freedom to thrive. Five years later, we’re proud to say that vision still guides us every day.
Building on Experience, Driven by Vision
With Carey’s background in public health, clinical trial research, and epidemiology, and Mike’s two decades in technology services — including ten years in the public sector — we saw a unique opportunity at the intersection of health and technology.
“At that point in my career, I was done with the corporate culture of most companies,” Mike reflects. “Too often, top performers were burned out, underappreciated, or left without the support to succeed. Carey and I wanted to flip that script.”
“I was ready for a new challenge,” Carey adds. “Mike was able to hand-select his dream team, and together we could build a company where the best talent had the support to shine and the freedom to thrive. That was the vision that pulled us forward.”

From One Consultant to 200 Strong
Our first consultant joined Operation Warp Speed at the height of the pandemic — a project that embodied both urgency and impact. That moment marked the beginning of a remarkable journey.
Today, Blu Omega has grown to more than 200 employees and consultants supporting mission-critical programs across federal health, defense, and civilian agencies. Along the way, we’ve expanded into new markets, built strong client partnerships, secured our GSA MAS Schedule, and earned a place on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies.
“Going from one consultant to 200+ people in just five years has been incredible,” Mike says. “But what I’m most proud of is that we’ve grown without losing sight of who we are. We’ve proven that performance and culture can go hand in hand.”
